Recently, during a high-speed running test at Beijing’s National Speed Skating Oval, a humanoid robot competing in the event failed to correct its direction in time, ran off the track, and crashed into the safety barrier. The robot stumbled backward several steps before falling on its back, with sparks flying from its waist as its joints were damaged. The scene made it look as if the robot had literally “broken its back.”
