Recently, several insiders from various regions in China have revealed to foreign media that the number of people detained in prisons and detention centers has significantly increased. Among those detained, the number of officials involved in corruption and bribery cases has also risen. Since January this year, prisons in Shandong, Henan, and other regions have been receiving individuals involved in corruption cases, including retired officials at the bureau level and senior executives from state-owned enterprises.
