On August 26, a devastating mudslide struck the China-Nepal border, instantly swallowing the buildings at Gyirong Port in Tibet. International media quickly focused on the catastrophic scenes on the Nepalese side, where footage of rescue helicopters flying through mountain valleys was repeatedly broadcast. Videos showing the disaster in Tibet, however, were blocked, deleted, and censored by the Chinese Communist Party. The mudslide exposed the false image behind the CCP’s propaganda.
