China Auto Show Dies: Luxury Giants Exit, Leaving Only Chinese Cars To Play Alone

The 2026 Chengdu Motor Show is being held from August 21 to 30 at the Western China International Expo City. Official information shows that the event covers 220,000 square meters, with 12 exhibition halls plus outdoor areas, and is expected to display around 1,600 vehicles. However, after the exhibitor list was released, the biggest attention was not on “who came,” but rather “who was missing.” 22 brands are absent from this year’s show. In the ultra-luxury segment, Bentley, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Maserati, Aston Martin, and Lotus are all missing. Some of these brands have skipped the Chengdu Motor Show for the second consecutive year.
