About Falun Dafa
Falun Dafa is a cultivation practice guided by the three fundamental characteristics of the universe — Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Cultivation means continuously striving to better align oneself with these timeless principles.

.
…this is Chinese, and the meaning is: "Falun Dafa is Good" — pronounced "Fǎlún Dàfǎ hǎo." So simple, and yet so profound. But what exactly is Falun Dafa?
.
Falun Dafa is a cultivation practice guided by the three fundamental characteristics of the universe — Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Cultivation means continuously striving to better align oneself with these timeless principles, to become a more honest, kinder, and more patient human being.
Practice refers to the exercises — five sets of gentle, easy-to-learn movements and a sitting meditation, suitable for people of all ages and levels of physical fitness. No special equipment is needed. No membership. No fees. Ever.
In an increasingly complicated world — one so often shaped by noise, cynicism, and mistrust — it can feel nearly impossible to find a space of genuine calm. And yet, there are many people who long for exactly this: for truthfulness in a world full of half-truths, for kindness in a world that sometimes seems to reward the ruthless, and for tolerance in a world growing more divided by the day. Falun Dafa speaks to that longing.
Ancient Roots, Global Reach
.
Falun Dafa has deep roots in China's rich tradition of mind-body cultivation — a tradition that stretches back thousands of years. In 1992, it was first introduced to the public by its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, in the city of Changchun. From there, word spread rapidly across China and beyond.
Today, Falun Dafa is practiced by over 100 million people in more than 100 countries around the world, and has received hundreds of proclamations, awards, and honors from governments and civic organizations across five continents. Its main book, Zhuan Falun, has been translated into over 40 languages and is available free of charge at falundafa.org.
Persecuted — But Not Silenced
.
In China, the story is a painful one. Since July 1999, Falun Dafa has been brutally persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. The reason? When the CCP realized that the number of Falun Dafa practitioners had surpassed the number of Party members — reaching an estimated 70 to 100 million people — it perceived the practice as a threat to its monopoly on power. Overnight, a peaceful spiritual community was branded an "evil cult," and a sweeping campaign of arrests, imprisonment, torture, and forced labor was set in motion.
To this day, practitioners inside China cannot practice openly. Many have been imprisoned for years simply for holding onto their faith — for meditating, for sharing books, for refusing to renounce what they believe.
Yet despite decades of suppression, Falun Dafa has not disappeared. If anything, it has grown.
You Are Welcome to Try
.
Outside of China, Falun Dafa is practiced freely — in parks, community centers, and living rooms in cities and towns across the world. And you are welcome to try it, too.
You will find everything you need — all books, exercise instructions, and video guides — completely free of charge at:
www.falundafa.org — available in dozens of languages
Or you may look for a practice group in your area. There are no membership fees, no hierarchy, and no obligations of any kind. Falun Dafa has no formal organization — it is a community bound only by shared values and mutual respect.
Try it at home, try it in a park, try it for a week. If it speaks to you, continue. If not, you are free to walk away at any time. No one will ask you to stay.
Perhaps, after your own experience, you will find yourself saying what so many millions have already said — quietly, sincerely, and from the heart:
"Falun Dafa is good."
