You do not have to burst into laughter; simply smiling is sufficient.Later, Dr. Jinrou conducted another experiment in which participants were asked to enter a room alone and maintain a smile for two hours without anything amusing present. The results showed that the changes in the activity levels of natural killer cells in the participants’ bodies before and after smiling were consistent with the results of the comedy performance experiment.
