China’s Worst Mudslide Ever: Entire Mountain Collapses, Hundreds And Cars Swallowed
.
At around 10:30 a.m. on August 26, a massive landslide struck the Nepal-China border. Footage shows a wall of black mud and debris surging forward like a tsunami. The Gyirong Port in Shigatse, Tibet was severely affected. Dozens, and possibly nearly a hundred people, could be seen desperately running away after spotting the approaching mudflow, but it moved too quickly. People, vehicles, and buildings were swallowed within seconds. It may have been one of the most severe landslide disasters in China’s history.
