In early November 2025, a commercial satellite image caused a stir in Western defense circles. It showed an unusual ship, about 65 meters long, covered entirely with waterproof tarps, quietly docked at the Huangpu shipyard in Guangzhou, China. It has no bridge, no mast, and only a low-profile trimaran design, with space reserved for a vertical launch system. It looks like an incomplete hybrid of a submarine and an aircraft carrier.
