On July 13, during Sudan’s civil war, a Chinese-made Rainbow-5 drone worth millions of dollars was shot down in midair by an incoming missile. The drone, operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), was destroyed without taking any evasive action. The missile was fired by a drone operated by the government forces led by Sudanese president Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. It marked one of the first major examples of drone-versus-drone combat in modern warfare.
