A group of farmers recently appeared in northern China’s North China Plain. Video footage shows a massive peanut field after harvest, packed with people. The scene was noisy and chaotic as people bent down or squatted, using buckets, bags, and baskets to compete for peanuts left scattered on the ground. Some people pushed and shoved each other. Because there were so many people, some were even forced into a river near the edge of the field.
