Behind the Grace: The Untold Stories of Shen Yun

As audiences watch the grace and beauty of Shen Yun’s performers on stage, many do not realize that behind these smiles are lives marked by persecution.
Some of these artists have personally endured repression by the Chinese Communist Party, or have witnessed their families suffer under it.

Who are they？Why are they on stage? 

When Fadu was just one year old, her father was persecuted to death by the Chinese Communist Party for practicing Falun Gong.

Delu was four years old when her father was persecuted to death.
Because of this, Delu herself faced discrimination at school and in society.

Wang Xuan lost his father in 2009 due to the persecution.
His mother has been illegally arrested eleven times and remains imprisoned to this day.

Liu Zixing lost his aunt Gao Rongrong in June 2005, and the entire family suffered as a result of their faith.

Jiao KeXin saw her father brutally tortured when she was still a child, simply for practicing Falun Gong.

Wu Ruixuan witnessed the death of her grandmother after she returned to China and was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party.

When Xi Mingwei was a child, she was arrested by the police along with her grandmother and underwent a long period of interrogation.

As a child, Liu Mingye witnessed his uncle's family suffering from depression and persecution, and being displaced for many years.

Zhenzhen suffered persecution in mainland China when she was a child because she practiced Falun Gong.

Shen Yun does more than revive the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.
It exposes a regime that is anti-faith and anti-humanity.

Shen Yun brings together artists from around the world.
Some have even gone to Tiananmen Square themselves, appealing peacefully and telling the truth to people in mainland China.

In response, the Chinese Communist Party has extended its persecution overseas—
using infiltrated media outlets, exploiting loopholes in foreign legal systems,
spreading false reports to smear Shen Yun, filing baseless lawsuits,
and even issuing bomb threats to try to stop its performances.

But all of this has failed.

Instead, it has revealed the true nature of the regime to the world—
and pushed Shen Yun further onto the global stage,
allowing more people to learn the truth.

These artists are not merely performing.

They are calling to the conscience of humanity.

They are not doing this only for themselves—
but for everyone.
