Should Taiwanese be concerned about the attacks on pro-Taiwan Japanese politicians? On July 8, 2022, 41-year-old Tetsuya Yamagami assassinated former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe. On April 15, 2023, 24-year-old Ruiji Kimura threw a home-made smoke bomb at Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at a public gathering in a fishing village. Kishida escaped the bomb unhurt.
