Major industrial bottlenecks threaten China’s manufacturing and Beijing’s ambitions

Beijing feels the pain caused by U.S. sanctions on China’s semiconductor imports. But chips aren’t the only things Beijing worries about. The regime is preparing for economic sanctions or even decoupling. China’s own experts have identified a few areas in which the country’s dependence on foreign technologies will disrupt Chinese industries. In addition to semiconductor and industrial software, at least four industrial bottlenecks threaten Beijing’s geopolitical ambitions.
