A year after the end of the CCP's pandemic lockdowns, China's economy shows no signs of recovery but rather a further downturn. In December, nearing the New Year, Shanghai's two busiest airports, Pudong and Hongqiao, have been reported as eerily quiet. The airport halls are empty, with only a few passengers coming and going, and most of the various shops and restaurants remain closed, visibly reflecting the extent of the economic slump.
