On June 23, 2025, at around 6:48 PM, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck Qingcheng District, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, located at 23.62°N latitude and 113.17°E longitude. The earthquake had a depth of approximately 10 kilometers, with its epicenter located in Qingyuan. While not considered a strong earthquake, its shallow depth and proximity to densely populated areas made it felt across the Pearl River Delta region. Areas including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, and even Hong Kong and Macau experienced tremors.
