Chinese-Made Jammers Used by Illegal Immigrants in Crimes: DHS

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has warned of an increasing influx of China-manufactured devices that block phone calls and other radio signals being smuggled into the United States.
According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), importing, selling, and marketing signal jamming equipment to consumers is considered a violation of federal law in the United States.
Customs and Border Protection officials said that seizures of China-made jammers at U.S. borders have increased roughly 830 percent since 2021, according to the DHS.
The agency said South American illegal immigrants have used signal-jamming devices during home invasions or bank robberies, leaving victims unable to call police. It said that such incidents have been reported in Florida, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia.
The discovery occurred just three months after another incident in which the criminal used a jammer during a police response to a burglary, it said.
DHS spokesperson pledged to continue cracking down on these “tools of terrorism” as Chinese companies seeking to smuggle signal jammers.
The warning from the DHS followed an announcement by President Donald Trump that the United States would ratchet up efforts to detain and deport illegal immigrants across the country.
Protests have erupted in those cities earlier this month, with thousands of protesters marching toward ICE facilities in protest against federal enforcement efforts. In some locations, the protests devolved into riots and resulted in injuries as demonstrators clashed with law enforcement.
“Our Federal Government will continue to be focused on the REMIGRATION of Aliens to the places from where they came, and preventing the admission of ANYONE who undermines the domestic tranquility of the United States,” the president wrote on his Truth social media platform.
