On November 30, protests were held in several parts of the UK by Hong Kong residents, opposing the verdict in the “Hong Kong 47” case. The The Hong Kong 47 refers to a group of 47 pro-democracy advocates who were charged under the National Security law. The Hong Kong group “Leeds Hand-in-Hand” organized a silent protest in the city center. During the event, a Chinese man, speaking Mandarin, suddenly threw a milkshake at the protesters. It splashed on to the volunteers and wetting protest signs.
